Just before the new year I came across what was advertised as a large “. Museum quality” work of art by G. Freeman, whose subject was a US Calvary charge on the plains. I was enthralled by the concept of owning such a piece and perhaps making a respectable profit as well. Fortunately, I sought the appraisal advice of Mr. Dreasher, who did the research on the art piece. His research proved that although the work was in the manner of Frederic Remington, Olaf Carl Wieghorst, or Frank McCarthy, it was nothing more than a copied style and a commercially produced frame. Valued at no more than something in the ” decorative value range”. I greatly appreciated the promptness and accuracy of Mr. Dreasher’s evaluation and definitely recommend his services to anyone in search of an appraiser.
